Austin High and Austin Junior High schools on heightened alert because of threats

Austin High and Austin Junior High schools were placed on heightened alert status Thursday morning because of threats made to a family of students at both schools. Decatur City Schools spokeswoman Elizabeth Gentle said the two schools went on secure perimeter at approximately 8:30 a.m., then went to heightened alert.
